Afantou Rhodes Rodos Region
It is one of the largest cities of Rhodes, with 6,000 residents, located on the east coast, 20 km from Rhodes Town.
It is built between three hills and many argue that it was named due to its location, which was chosen so as not different from the pirates. So then village, now the city, was invisible, unseen.
Some others believe that the village was named after a wealthy landowner who lived there, the Efantos....

Remnants of ancient monuments, temples and tombs, are preserved today in the area of Afandou, as the evidence of a greater ancient civilization.
The town of Afandou is famous for its huge beach, perhaps the most popular on the island, which is approximately five kilometers, consisting of small pebbles and sand, and is just 2km from the city center.
In the town square, where it is located the City Hall, full of cafes, is dominated by the three entities church of Our Lady, the beautiful and tall bell tower.
